Here we have a gorgeous original lugged Nishiki Tri-A road bike with full Shimano 600 group including headset, cranks, f+r brakes, f+r derailleurs, brake levers and down tube shifters. Although branded as a Nishiki for US distribution this frame was actually handmade by Kawamura Cycle Co in Japan out of high quality lightweight Tange #1 Cro-mo tubing which is comparable to the more well known Reynolds 531 or Columbus SL tube sets. This frame has some very special details not seen on lesser models such as brazed internal cable routing for both the front and rear derailleur as well as the rear brake cable. Also very unique and beautiful mirror polished partial wraparound seat stay plugs. Needless to say you would have to spend a pretty penny if you were purchase a custom frame today with these features . The condition of the frame is very good, no dents or large scratches. Wheels are Sansin Sealed System hubs with high quality hard anodized Araya rims with little to no sidewall wear. In fact the whole bike looks like it has been ridden very few miles in its lifetime with the chainrings and freewheel cogs in almost like new condition. The only reason this is being put up for sale at this time is that the frame is about 5cm too large for me or I would probably be out riding it now! To the best of my knowledge every single part of this bike bar the pedals and tires is original as it was when it left the factory. This would be a great addition to any vintage bike collection or could also be an reliable daily rider from back in the days when bikes were built to last.
